My little Madelyn "graduated" third grade last week. I cannot believe she is going to be going to Baldwin next year. My house of 7 years goes up for sale and my little girl is not in grade school anymore happens all in one day. This is going to be an emotional next couple weeks. Prozac anyone?

For Sale

Well Folks....there you have it. Our house is officially for sale. This is kind of a bittersweet thing for me. I am excited about building a new house but also scared. I am also sad to sell this house. This house was the first HUGE leap Pete and I took as a married couple. We were so scared when we bought this house. Madelyn was almost 2 when we moved in. And talking to us then, you would have thought we bought a mansion overlooking a golf course. This house was a big deal to us. We have so many fun memories in this house. This house has seen numerous birthday parties, sleepovers, bringing home a new baby, several "different" neighbors. And I'm sure a fair share of fights and disagreements, as well. I love this house. I will miss it dearly. But it is now time for someone else to make their own memories. Good-bye 1618 Melrose Dr...you will be missed.

What a long strange trip it's been

Holy Crap! It has been forever since I have blogged. A lot has gone on since September. Here is a little update:

1. We survived the holidays with great success. We spent time with family and friends.

2. Pete and I went to Nassau, Bahamas in March. We had a great time. Lots of sun, sand, ocean and wonderful drinks.

3. Madelyn started Quincy United Soccer. She is doing a conditioning course right now and soon will be trying out for the team. Which means alot of traveling to St Louis in our near future.

4. We had a wonderful trip to Joplin to visit the Gilchrist Family over Easter. I think this is going to become an annual event.

5. I received a permanent marking on my foot. I'm not going into the fine details....so figure this one out for yourself.

6. Pete and I will be putting our house on the market in the next couple of weeks. This is going to be very scary. We have to sell our house before we can start on our new house. So we will be homeless for the next couple months. Any volunteers?? We don't have animals...just children.

7. We have been getting things in order to start on the new house. Hoping to break ground in late June-- early July. This is going to be a very fun, yet trying time.

8. Wedding season is getting very, very close. I'm excited. I've missed doing them.

It's been awhile

Okay, it's been awhile since my last blog. We have been so busy with a lot lately. Madelyn started 3rd grade, has started dance, soccer and Tae Kwon Do. This little girl keeps us busy with just her stuff. Andrew is getting bigger by the second. We have started the whole potty training thing. He is getting pretty good at it. A couple accidents, but that is expected. Pete has been very busy with his business. He has also started Tae Kwon Do again too. Hopefully, by December he will have his black belt. I have been busy with my photography and working full time. I too have started kickboxing. So as you can see we are very busy. But, the biggest news of all is...............we have put money down on a lot for a new house! I am so excited. We are hoping to break ground in April and be moved in by September of 2008. Pete and the kids are standing in our future living room (see picture above). We I hope that I haven't bored you to tears. I hope all is well with everyone!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter. We got to spend our Easter with the wonderful Gilchrist Family. For those of you who read Angie's blog, you already know this. We had a wonderful time. We didn't really want to come home. Madelyn had fun because she got to hold Brynn and boss the boys around. Andrew just didn't care what we did as long as his Carterman was there. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I will post more pics of the weekend sometime soon.

This weekend was a little emotional for me. While I was at work yesterday afternoon, Pete took down Andrew's crib for me. I just couldn't bear to watch it come down. When I arrived home, there, in it's place, was a big boy bed. I can't believe that he is no longer a "baby". It's seems just like yesterday he was that tiny, little newborn that was totally dependent on me. Now, he can do things himself (or so he thinks). I know that I still have a long time with my kids before they are off to college. For some reason, I'm afraid, that day will come faster then I think it will.

Madelyn is in baby heaven. She is so excited that Brynn in finally here. She loves to just sit and hold her. She even has to have "bows" in her hair just like Brynn. Even though there is a 7 year age gap between them, I think that they will have a very special friendship as they grow up. I am so excited to see it happen.

I just wanted to post some pictures to our recent, much needed vacation to Mexico. We had an awesome time. It was tough being away for the kids. I think they enjoyed themselves too by being spoiled by everyone. We didn't do a whole lot. We ate, drank (ALOT), laid by the pool, walked the ocean at night, swam with dolphins, went to downtown Puerto Vallarta, went shopping for beautiful silver, went to the Lady of Guadelupe Catholic Church (it was AMAZING). All in all it was a great time. We had a hard time leaving. ENJOY......

I had the honor of doing some wonderful pictures of the Gilchrist Family this past weekend when they were home. I wanted to share them with everyone. I want to thank Ang, Gil and Carter for giving me their time to do these. It can be tough doing these, and anyone who knows me, I get started on a project and keep getting wild ideas and I can't stop. I love all three (I guess I should say four) of you. You guys play a huge role in my life. I don't know what I would do without you. I can't wait to meet this little peanut. I just want her to know how blessed she is to be a part of your family. I haven't blogged in awhile so I will get everyone up to date as to what has happened on the last month at the Keane household.

*We finally got out of our driveway and out of the subdivision. I am not going to complain about the snow because I know of three (almost 4) people that had it a little rougher than I did this past weekend. All I can say is that I am very proud of that little momma.

*Madelyn has her Christmas dance recital on Sunday afternoon. She is going to be doing three dances. Tap, Jazz and Hip-Hop. I am so pround of this little girl. She dances day and night.....even when she thinks no one is watching :) Next week she also has a Christmas program at school. She gets to be a penquin and gets a speaking part.....Bring on the Oscar.

*My little AJ turns 2 on Thursday. I cannot believe that this is possible. They grow up way too fast. He is as wild as ever. He thinks that the Christmas tree ornaments are baseballs and they need to be thrown all around the kitchen. He also has a new saying..."I parted!" He says this whenever he passes gas or he hears someone else do it. So if you are around him..please be careful!

*Pete and I are doing great. I have neared the end of my weddings. I have one more this weekend and then I am done for the year. Pete is getting ready for his holiday open house at the office next week. We are just getting ready for our big trip to Mexico the end of January. I am so excited. We NEED this vacation!

I think that sums us up for the month. We don't do a whole lot. I'm sure I will be posting birthday pics of little man in the next week. So if you are interested, please check back.

Should have stayed in bed

Okay, have you ever had one of those days that you just wished you had stayed in bed and slept until the next day. Well, let me tell you about MY day today......

#1. AJ broke the handle on the toilet. So now, until my husband gets it fixed (which will be two months from now), you have to lift the top of the toilet off and pull the little string-thingy to flush the toilet. So you have to reach into the top of the toilet and hold it there until it flushes completely. If this ever happens to you, please make sure that you roll your sleeves up before you stick your arm in to flush. Had.to.change.shirt.

#2. Get AJ to Mom's day out. Had to go to Wal-mart to buy 16 things of fruit puch, 16 2-liters of Sierra Mist, 5 million things of styrofoam cups, and 5 million napkins. Get to the front check-out, had to what 10 minutes for the lady in front of me to decide whether or not she bought the right size of mini-blinds. After 10 minutes, I have to wait another 5 because she had the wrong size. Now it's my turn. The lady starts ringing things up. I forget to tell her that I have a tax exempt number for the PTA. Should.have.given.her.that.number.first. She has to void out the sale and rering everything. She tells me my total. Realizing that I have left my wallet in the car. She is really pissed now. The lady behind me was polite enough to tell me to go get my wallet and she will wait. No that is okay...it was my bust. I get my exercise in for the day and RUN to the car. Get my wallet and come back. Wait another 10 minutes for my turn AGAIN. Pay for everything and leave. As I am leaving I turn to the cashier and say "It must be an omen for me today. I should have stayed in bed." The kind lady replied with " Oh don't say that. It will be fine." Okay.

#3. That brings me to the next thing. I have to carry 16 things of fruit punch, 16 2-liters of Sierra Mist and ALL my cups and napkins into the school. I notice that it is kinda misting when I leave Wal-Mart. No big deal. As I pull up to school, it starts raining harder. So now, I look like a drowned rat. As soon as I'm done unloading everything......it stops.

#4. So now, the cherry on top of my shit-on-me-sundae. As I am picking up AJ from Mom's Day Out, I decide to take him to McDonalds. I pull onto Broadway, and decide to go to the one on 13th street. When I pull into the lefthand lane I notice that the drive-thru lane is all the way to the street. Not wanting to block traffic, I wait patiently for the line to move up. But the people turning right into McDonalds don't really care that I have a screaming 22-month-old screaming in the back "I HUNGRY". So I get mad and squeal off and decide to go to the one on 32nd and Broadway. I pull into the parking lot and notice that once again the drive-thru is backed up. So I decide to pull into the parking stall and go inside. As I am waiting for the car infront of me to pull up, I notice that her reverse lights are on. I realize that she is backing up into my direction. I lay on the horn to warn her that I am behind her. But when you have music on and both you and your passenger are on your cell phones you really can't hear anything. So I grab the wheel and wait for the lovely sound of metal upon metal. As she slams into me, I grab the phone and call my husband. He tells me to get all her information and that is all I can do. So I finish pulling into the stall and wait for her to pull in beside me to take down the info. But NO...chubby has to continue staying in drive-thru. I roll sown my window and start yelling, "You just hit my car." Her passenger rolls down her window and the driver yells, "I'm sorry" and waves. I realize that she is not going to pull over. I asked her three times to pull over and that I need to get some information from her. She finally parks and gets out. I took down her information and as she is walking away she says "I'm sorry I didn't see you until I hit you." And then she says "So what, are you going to call me when you find out details". No stupid, I'm going to call you when I find your common sense.

So needless to say....I had a pretty crappy day. And as I'm crying all the way home, I think to myself, why does all this stuff happen to me. I am always having days like this....I hope some other people experience this too.

I will have to say that something good came out of today. I FINALLY got my BagDaddy purses in.......they are TOO CUTE!!

My husband brought me home a wonderful surprise today.....THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON OF GREY'S ANATOMY! I am hooked on this show...thank you Angela Marie! I was at Wal-mart this morning, and as I'm walking out the door...what do I see. A huge sign saying that the second season was available September 12th! Hello.I.must.have.it I had both kids with me and I didn't feel like going back into the wonderful world of Wal-Mart shoppers again. So, I made a little phone call telling my wonderful husband that I had two things that I had awesome things happen to me today....#1 I lost 2.2 pounds and #2 Greys Anatomy---2nd season came out on DVD. I know that none of you probably care about this....I just had to let someone know that Dr McDreamy is coming to my house tonight!

Second grade here I come!

Today was Madelyn's first day of second grade. As I was taking pictures of her this morning, I could not help but think to myself.....in ten years, I am going to be taking pictures of her on her first day of her senior year in high school (if she will let me). Where do the years go. She was ready to start school. She informed me that I not to follow her to the bus stop and take pictures. Just to show her, I walked down there with no make-up on, my hair not brushed (nor my teeth) and took a picture of all the kids at the bus stop. All she kept saying was, "Mom, go home." So I waited until the bus came....waved as it passed and then went home. Little AJ kept saying, "Where's Moc?" I don't know what this little man is going to do during the day without his sister here. She is his hero. Yes they fight like normal siblings do but he loves her to pieces. I watch her at night with him when he climbs in her bed (hiding from us because he knows he is going to bed next) and reads him books. I love watching them watch Finding Nemo together. They have a connection. Something that I hope they keep forever.......

Home improvement...STEP ONE

Here is phase one of our projects....We took out the old black and white tile floor and added ceramic tile. I will give my husband total kudos....he did most of the work himself. That is until I was nominated to help him grout it. :) We also repainted the walls. Next step is new counter tops which will go in tomorrow. Once again, Pete is doing it himself. We still have to paint the trim and cabinets. I have been told I am doing that job. Our little house (which is really little) has really become our own. It has taken us 5 and a half years to get it that way...I will be very sad when we have to leave. But for now, it will do. I will update with pictures when it is totally done.

P.S. If anyone has any knowledge on easy window treatments......give me a buzz!

Today my little girl turns 7. I cannot believe it. It's seems like yesterday, I was walking the halls of the hosiptal waiting to meet this little person that had been making a little home for nine months inside of me. Little did we know that this little girl had plans of her own. She wanted to stay in there forever. She had already overstayed her welcome by two weeks, plus she wanted to come out backwards. I still see that determination in her now. She has been a great joy to both her Dad and I. She has no idea how much she means to us. She knows that we love her unconditionally, but she doesn't even know the half of it. She really honestly saved us from becoming another "statistic". God has awesome plans for her and I can't wait! She has put her little footprints ALL over my heart and they just keep getting bigger.........

AJ loves his sister! He follows her wherever she goes. If she eats a banana, he wants one too. If she brushes her teeth, he has to have his toothbrush too. If she looks out the window at the kids riding their bikes, he has to too. I hope that this continues all throughout their life. I have made it back from the wonderful state of Nevada. I had a wonderful time. It was rough being away from the kiddos. But I made it through. Thank goodness for camera phones! I didn't bowl so well but hey, good experience! I didn't win any money. I don't know how you can when all you play is penny slots. I have always made fun of the older people on the tour buses with their cameras hanging out of the windows taking pictures of EVERYTHING that moves. Well folks I have now become one of those "old people". We went to Lake Tahoe for a day.....It was so pretty! I don't think that is it somewhere I would visit again. But to say that I have been there is enough for me.

Fun Times

Today was a fun day. Andrew was peeking through his legs, chasing after me, backing up to me and just falling in my lap. These are the days that I wish Madelyn wasn't at school so she could join in. I can't wait until this summer when I can have both of them all to myself. These are the kind of days that I didn't have with Madelyn. Since I worked until she was 4, I never got to play with her like this. Plus, since she was a little girl she wasn't much into running and jumping. She was the kind of child to sit in your lap and just snuggle. Or when she was two her favorite thing was to "do you hair Mommy". When I found out that Andrew was going to be a boy, I will have to admit that I was a little disapointed. I wanted another girl to dress up and put pretty bows in her hair. I also wanted Madelyn to have a sister. This little man has a special place in my heart. Along with his sister. I love my children to pieces. And I get to be the one they call Mommy. I am so glad that we are in a place to where I can stay home and enjoy these times. Because trust me they don't last long because they grow up way to fast.

Madelyn: Good I need to watch my weight.

I kind of laughed to myself for a minute. Then I felt a little disturbed about it. She is only 6..she should be worrying about what color she wants me to paint her nails next. Not her weight. But if I teach her healthy eating habits now, she won't worry about it when she is my age. So maybe it's not all that bad. At least she likes my WW meatloaf...which I will have to say is yummy and only 4 pts for a huge piece. Now I just have to convince Pete to eat it!

Today was Andrew's third haircut. I felt so sorry for him today. In order for Anne to cut it, I had to sit in the chair with him wrap one arm around him and hold his face as tight as I could hold it. He was not happy about this at all. After 15 minutes of constant crying and screaming we got it done....He was so exhausted he fell asleep on the way home. So I think Pete gets to take him the next time!

Beauty Pageant

Madelyn and her cousin Emily were playing "beauty pageant" one day recently at our house. Emily has a brother Nathan, who was also there. Nathan was the judge. The girls changed into three different outfits. Pete and I were sitting in the living room talking and everytime the girls would change outfits Nathan would come out and sit with us until they were done. By the third outfit change Nathan came out and sat by me. He let out a huge sigh. I asked him what was wrong and he said, " Madelyn is mad at me." I asked him why. He proceeded to tell Pete and I that she was mad because he kept picking Emily as the winner. I asked him why he was picking her...This is what he said, "Well because she is my sister and if I don't pick her she will be mad. And I have to go home with her." I have never laughed so hard in my life.......

Today I am waiting in line at the social security place (because I have lost my SS card....and you can't work without showing it) and Andrew is sitting on the counter waiting for the lady to print out my info. When he looks at me, points to my nose and says "nose".....then giggles. I have not showed him this little "trick" yet. So don't ask me where he learned it. And just to make sure I was hearing things correctly, I asked him "where's mommy's nose" and he pointed to it. My child is a genius!!!

I have been given the pleasure of being asked to work part-time at Old Navy. For those of you who know me well, my family's (yes, including Pete) wardrobe is 60 percent Old Navy and 35 percent Gap. So I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I wil have to tell you, when I learned the discount that I receive.....all I can say is WOW......60 percent at Banana Republic, 50 percent at Gap and 40 percent at Old Navy. How can you not want to work there. I also wanted to let everyone know it opens March 9th here in Q-town. And if you are really nice to me I could get you in the doors March 8th with a "special coupon" that saves you 20 percent. If anyone is interested.......... :) I am very confident that this is going to be a wonderful experience.

I am not one to sit and feel sorry for myself....nor do I want anyone else to feel sorry for me. I am one to always listen and help others out. Not very often will you hear a complaint from me. I have had a weekend from hell. It has really got me thinking. You know sometimes one thing really sucky happens to you and it goes downhill from there. I am not going to bore all of you will my woes. But there are some things that I think if I just get them out, I might be able to sleep at night. For the last couple months (towards the end of Wilsons) I have been seriously thinking about going back to work. I love my children very much and I would never take back the time I have spent with them at home. However, I;m starting to feel a little like the maid and not the mom or wife. I have very mixed emotions about this decision. I have applied several places but you know you hear the same thing over, " We really need you to work EVERY weekend", "You are just not qualified" OR you just don't like the people working there already...so forget it. I have an interview tomorrow morning with a place here in town that seems pretty promising......not going to jinx that one. Later on that.

I have really been rethinking this whole photography thing.......I think I am going to finish out the year and maybe take a few next year but really lay low on it for now. There are some things I need to get worked out before I can continue on with my dream. I have a passion for this job.... but lately it is not in me.

Today's message at church was about giving to God. I know that the message was more about giving money but for me it went a little deeper. I am not giving my ALL to him. I am not where I should be spiritually. I don't feel "connected" to him and it hurts.......

Okay...with Wilson's closing I thought this would be a great time to get caught up on some stuff. This is my list:

1. Get my closet cleaned out and give to charity. (Point....get rid of fat clothes so I HAVE to lose weight)........DONE

2. Clean out my desk and get rid of all paperwork I don't need anymore......DONE

3. Clean up Madelyn's room with a garbage bag......started on that, but realized it's not my room she needs to help........WAITING FOR HER TO GET HOME FROM SCHOOL

4. Clean out all cabinets and organize......DONE

5. Go through Andrew's clothes and put away all clothes that don't fit........VERY depressing but DONE.

6. Clean out laundry room.....DONE

7. Clean out bathroom closet.....DONE

Okay there you have it.....My list is done....now what. I am so bored. Andrew would rather play by himself then sit on the floor and play with Mommy. Madelyn comes home and ignores me totally. Do you ever find yourself at the begining of a new year with so many resolutions in mind? I do it every year and every year....they never get kept. I think this is THE YEAR..... I only have a few for this year. I think maybe I set too many. And then I become so overwhelmed that I just quit.

#1-- I now this is #1 on everyones list every year....I need to lose some weight. It is for me every year and every year.....it's the first to go...NOT this year. I have 30 pounds to lose. I started Weight Watchers two weeks ago. So far I've lost 2 pounds. This past week has been very hard....fell of the boat a couple times. I just have to set my mind to it I guess. So for any of you WW veterans out there...a little help....PLEASE... :)

#2-- I need patience....I think this really should be a tie for #1. I have the patience the size of a thumbtack.

#3-- I need to start saving the dough....I would love to open a studio sometime in the next few years. And if I don't start saving now the more I will owe the bank.....Any suggestions?????

I really think those are all that I'm going to give myself for this year. I have several little ones..but I'm not going to let those bother me.

2005 was a great year. I hope that 2006 will be better.......

Okay...for the last couple of years I have been obsessed with nose piercings. I think the smallest ring looks really cute. I've been scared to do it because you think "what will people think of me?", "do I look like trash?". Well, the lovely people at Wilsons Leathers bet me that I wouldn't do it. They said they would pay for it if I did it. So after a week of being a huge chicken.....I did it. I now have another hole in my head. Right now it looks okay.....When this heals I can put a smaller ring in....Am I white trash??? I'm a little scared of what people think.......Maybe they won't notice.... :)

Where does time go?

As I sit here on a cold, windy day it really makes me think about time. I have just mailed Andrew's 1st birthday invitations. Why is that so hard? Where did my baby go? It seems just like yesterday I was feeling him move around inside my (rather large) tummy. I look at him sleeping right now and think what he is going to be when he grows up. I think about the little league baseball games, the QSL soccer games, the mud pies, the Tonka trucks in the backyard. I think of graduation and college. I think about the first time he tells me he has found the love of his life and it's time to pop the question. Maybe I'm going a little to far ahead of myself. I can remember when Madelyn was this age. And I look at her now.....my big first grader. She already talks about being a mommy someday herself. Where does it go? I never thought this would bother me. When Madelyn was a baby I couldn't wait until she rolled over, I couldn't wait for her to crawl, then to walk, then to talk. I've kind of learned to stop and sit back and enjoy everyday with them. I know that people tell you not to hold a sleeping baby because it spoils them. Let me tell you whoever said that has never had the pleasure of holding one. There is nothing like having a child lay on your chest and smell that "baby smell" in their hair. Someday I will figure this out and write a book but until then.......just take everyday in and hold on to the memories.

I have never done anything like this. I hear Ang talk about it but I think to myself, "Do I have time?", "What if no one reads it!". How embarrasing, you pour your heart out or share a funny memory and no one reads it. That would be my luck. So here it goes. If you are reading this...God Bless You for feeling sorry for me and taking the time to read.
